The idea of "unlocking" stuff in PS2 that didn't give you clear advantages over those who just started was just dumb. Suggesting the worst part about other games to be implemented here is just silly.

Here is a game you guys can play where everybody starts and ends on the same playing field

Now please leave this one alone.

Natural progression in the meaning of gaining access to new resources, skills and industry branches which let you create better and more efficient stuff as well as unlock access to even more advanced skills and mechanics. And that's what crafting MMO should be about.

What's unnatural about that?

This is not true. In fact, almost nothing you have typed since your return is true. Considering you havn't played in almost a year how about you fire up the game before you start spewing lies all over the forums. Especially in I&I. I'm going to report your posts every time you post a blatent troll in this section. Not playing a game for a year and then lying about the state of it in I&I is clear trolling and in clear violation of forum rules.

I think you missed this viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8502&start=20#p112235 and few other of my posts.

We have less murder alts per pro player?
People are not making videos about destroying empty bases with tons of braziers?
You can't raid any base at any time you want to?
We have more than 100 people on all 3 servers?
Just by playing more hours per day you can't get stats higher than average group of players and destroy their work?

Anything of that has changed during last year?

Besides, you are not asking for a bile cap. What you effectively ask for is for players to be able to reach maximum biles faster. As naosnule said, there are hardcaps already, it just take a lot of effort to reach those. You want it to be available for anyone, including casual players.

But for that you would have to trivialize a lot of mechanics

Everybody else understood what you meant Procne. Potjeh just thought he was clever by using the word "natural" twice in the same sentence. Traditional/Natural advancement is a superior system. Potjeh suggesting that players can all "unlock" different skills, none of which actually advance you in a positive manner is one of the larger reasons I believe the Dev's dont' read and take the suggestions here seriously. Next up I'm sure he is going to argue that instead of a "Gluttony system that advance biles" we get a "hair dye system" where players who put in more work can change to different colors of hair. This way we have "fun diversity" that doesn't in any way help the no-lifers.

BTW. The "No-Lifers" I would argue are the "Best-Lifers". Clearly you are WINNING @ life if you can follow your passion and hobby for more time than others. Those who are ***** about "having to work" I will now refer to the ***** because they are clearly upset at their life while the "no-lifers" are having a blast not complaining about the things that stop them from pursuing their passion.

Well, that doesn't describe Salem at all. Getting access to all the different stuff is just the intro, the majority of the game is redoing that "endgame" content a million times to grow in raw power. And that's what no game should be about, because that's just plain tedium.

Yes. Pretty much every one of those have changed since you last played. Now that it is confirmed. Please see previous suggestions and educate yourself before typing further.

Rly? So describe changes here and educate many people at same time, forums are part of the game, right?

I could just extend that list by throwing in any MMO around.

Just my 2 silver on PS2: I do play it and i know its system. You have several items which give "established/paying" people an advantage over just started: C4, Anti-vehicular turrets, weapons with more damage/range, more tactical options like signal beacon &c &c. And the devs over there keep throwing shiny new stuff in the game, people have to grind/pay for to get their edge. And people abouse even that system: they create alts in each faction and just relog that alt, where the faction gains more CERT per hour...

to sum everything up: Salem is not meant to be balanced. Just accept it and either: try to compete or admit that you cannot compete and thus stay inferior or play something else.
In feudalism, it's your count that votes...

PS2 does have some essential upgrades that you must get, but you can get all of them in a couple of weeks of playing, the rest is mostly just for fun (you don't actually *need* Skyguard or Phoenix or whatever and getting them won't do much for your K/D).

And if Salem isn't meant to be balanced, it's not meant to ever have player count in triple digits, which begs the question why it was designed as an MMO in the first place.
