Planetside2. You can grind certs 24/7 and you'll have lots more option than a casual, but your character won't be appreciably more powerful than that casual's character.

And yeah, those who put in more time will always win wars by attrition. The problem is that they win all the battles by default, which isn't fun for either side. In a better system the casuals could at least go down fighting, or even win if they can field superior numbers to offset the difference between individual players' grind time.

No,
You quit in less than 6 months and then came back to spew your nonsense and uneducated ideas all over the forum again.

Only stupid people keep playing after statement that Devs need to change gluttony, it was first sign that wipe is comming. Second sign was after they didn't wipe legacy items. Why should I waste few months on something that is going to be deleted and even Devs admited it was broken?

Eh...
Yes, your base will always be easier to destroy than it was to build.
But if you properly set up your defenses, and enough of them compared to state of your progress in game, then this no-lifer shouldn't want to break in. Because it takes time and drains his biles. Well, unless he's really bored because noone else is left to fight (Plymouth) or because he's got a grudge against you and just wants to make your day miserable.

Balance between how big % of your effort should go into defenses to achieve this, is a topic for discussion.

But still, situation in Salem is still much better than in HnH, where a brickbasher can completely circumvent all defenses.

You are aware that there's no such thing as brickbashers since world 3?

No, I am not. I based the comment on stories I heard. If they are gone then great.
But still there are palibashers, so unless you have put a lot of work to erect brick wall, any of those guys can easily enter your camp and nuke it for free. In Salem it's not that easy.

Making a brick wall takes less effort than making hundreds of braziers, and it's more effective. This is pretty much the main reason Haven has such higher population, because this makes it more casual friendly.

I can agree with statement that more time you spend in-game should make your base stronger that is great for gameplay and it should feel like you are doing progress. Main problem is that your base never will be strong enough to slow down no-life for 8 or more hours while you are at work?

So without cap combined with some other mechanic maybe or other solution (one I've suggested narrow raid time range) only people that play most can feel safe, because with current siege mechanic raiders will always pick time when base is empty and they can make videos about destroying walls and braziers. And that is very very stupid siege mechanic, can you agree with this?

Isn't this a shooter MOBA? Don't you just enter some battles and that's it?

On wikipedia I read that "unlockable skills are available and are stated to only make between a 15-20% difference between any player". How would you introduce this to a crafting MMO? How meaningless would farming, mining and crafting become if it gave only 20% difference to player's capabilities?

Now I read your requests as complaints that Salem offers too much.

In salem it is easier to raid, in HnH only thing that can break brickwall is ram and ram can be destroyed during 24h dry time and after moving it some amount of tiles (I don't remember now how many) you must repair it again and it needs to dry 8 hours or so. So making few brickwalls layers makes you safer.

While in salem you got only narrow time when you can destroy waste claim, so no-life with much higher stat can easily defend it and then bash your walls until they get what they want because you are going to sleep after 4 hours of play (I think that was the window for destroying waste claim?).

No, the trick is to make your town not tempting enough for the no-life to spend 8 hours to raid you.

To me the whole idea of an MMO where people can destroy each others' months-worth of progress is stupid. But that's what this game allows. The lack of balance between active and passive defense is a problem IMO, but artificial caps won't fix it IMO.
