And leave them online or offline for a duration of 8 hours or so. after which they will be ported to their claim or simly brought offline. you cannot un stall your char or anything for those 8 hours. you can set buy and sell orders and after 8 hours you can access these things again. once at home you can open the stall item and take out your buys and silver and restock the stall for another round of being a market salesman.
this way all you need is a large open space (even anyhere in the world tbh) and you are able to place a stall there for 8 hours.
needed skill "trading" ?

thats how people used to trade.

You would set some limits to how many buy/sell items one could hold.

Concern would be players spamming like 50 merchant alts into town. I'm not sure how to account for that.

You could charge some nominal fee + tax for leaving your merchant in town for 8 hours.

Potjeh's idea is best for long term. Allow towns to have their own stalls.

asking a price for stalls to set up is a good idea. also put a timer on being allowed to have a still on it.
like a countdown till next use. after reverting to person instead of a stall. 24-48 hours no stall.

but building your own markets should also be possible with my idea.
lets combine em!

I read somewhere the devs intended to change it, but it's probably down the priority list.

Stalls will be more valuable than ever in this new unique server. Most players have no patience to lurk forums for a simple trade that must be scheduled and then have faith in open barrels. It's faster and safer to buy on stalls, even if the price is a bit higher, it's worthy.

They should just port the existing stalls with their existing owners to the new world.

I think wipe is a good moment to implement some changes to the stalls. I understand they might be more preoccupied with gluttony changes, so they might not add any stalls until they implement some changes. That is, of course, assuming they are not happy with how the stalls work currently. It is entirely possible that they are in fact happy and enjoy people arguing about how it should work ^^

This idiot didn't even know about Trade Hubs Dallane. Back when Dallane and i would play together we would establish trade hubs @ the apple and other natoriously good bargain locations where players who are willing to take a little walk would get the best prices imaginable. I figure a system like this will emerge at the beginning of this world as well.
