yeah, the armor and weapons thing is pretty big. Early on it only costs maybe 20-50 gold to repair all your worn stuff but that still represents maybe a half hour of work (1s per enemy killed). I can imagine it maybe costing 100's of gold late game.

The crafting is deeper than any MMo like this. It's got a huge (and somewhat complicated crafting system). It's crafting is comparable to other TES games with a few differences. One of the best things I've learned is that the many kinds of food and beverages you can make will deteriorate over time to 50% of their original values. So you'll get "Cloudy Aquavile Wine' after having it for too long without using it. The inventory limitations are pretty high also. They have an item bank buts it's only 60% of your actual inventory space until you join an in-game guild and then you can bank more items with them. I don't know how much yet.

The character creation is revolutionary in my opinion.

We lasted for over 6 months without him. Alpha(which I didn't participate in) and closed beta.

Salem without claeyt is now a PROVEN FACT to be a much better game. After he left killings were on a all time low. Tribe payments were not required. Chief let me stroke his feathers. Darwoth joined a zerg. Darnok learned to read. We were on the verge of tri server peace.

Then he had to ruin it.

Thanks claeyt

You obviously never played EQ back in the old days where one death without a cleric around to rez you could wipe out a week's worth of hard xp grinding. I won't even mention the corpse runs back into the same situation to collect all your gear. Oops, I just did. Can't get back to your body to get your stuff that you worked six months for? Oops, it's gone forever. I know several people that quit over that one.

Even if it's partial loot, if the gear system late game is like it is early, it won't be too hard to get the highest tier stuff, just a lot of grinding.

Thanks CKirby. :D

I'm not leaving Salem.

When I first heard wipe I felt like Darwoth but then I saw how many of my friends and other players were coming back and realized the advantages of a wipe and I started to get excited for a new world. I'm sad in a bittersweet way but ready for the new server and update.

The TESo Beta's only open for the weekend right now and the full gmae won't be be on until the end of March. It's remarkably glitch free btw. I've had maybe 4 game freezes off of NPC quest chat screens and that just took a reload of the character to get back into the game. They haven't polished off the beastie loot drops yet as mudcrabs and Dreugr still drop hides instead of chitin but it's minor.

This last month I was playing Salem as my primary game and LoL as my secondary game (Level 1-25 in 3 weeks, whooo). When TESo comes out I'll replace LoL with it and keep Salem as my main game.
