Help - Game shuts down

I am trying to start playing the game. As soon as I go into new character, it's starts to load page then shuts down. I don't understand. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm not an expert, but I suggest you reinstall java (java 7.45 works fine for me but others say use java 6), update your video drivers (or try a previous driver version if you are already using the latest), delete the cache folder found in user/salem directory.

There are others who can give better advice, no doubt. Post your computer specs if you can. Doing so may give others some ideas. Also, there are a few threads that deal with similar problems. Before doing anything, check them out to see if there is any help to be found there.

It is recommended to use the latest release of Java to minimize any security risks that might be present. Some people have had issues with connecting on v7u45, though. If that is the case, then you can try using the previous update, which is v7u28 if I recall right.
