Why should I boil mushrooms? It only removes the poison. Poison lowers my stats by 0.1 and goes away after a few mins.

well.Sometimes mushrooms using in pies .and it get poison when it cooked.that's why mushrooms need to boil.If pies poisoned and you are using gluttony and eat more than 10 pies your stats will be lower 5-10 and need more time to wait when it goes away/

Waning toadstools (a rarer variant of the waxing toadstools you mentioned) are a bit more poisonous. Witches' Hats are far more poisonous than either toadstool.

For a more absolute "more dangerous": witch caps will lower your maximum biles by ~20% if I recall correctly.

I thought the same thing. Why boil them. I ate a bunch of shrooms and thought it was the greatest thing. Then I tried to dig or construct something and my full bar of phlegm disappeared in about 3 seconds. Its just quick energy if you eat one but if you eat a lot at a time or cook with them you definitely want to boil um.
