Alchemy doesn't work how you think it works. There is no reason to double cook items @ the alchemical values already available for boards.

However he is right, it does reset the instability and therefore you can dry the boards and then plane them, olie won't keep the mulitplier.

So cook the boards -> dry & cook again -> plane and cook again.
