The concept already exists with snuff to a lesser extent. I wouldn't extend this to food though.

When is the last time any of you bought anything in the shop? .. Apart from snuff it's been a while for me. Jorb and Loftar need more money.

Many of the top players claim to buy silver very regularly to keep their assorted claims up without having to grind argos. I don't think that making the people who don't want p2w quit is going to solve their money dilemma, if such a dilemma exists.
