Jorb was, in fact, a wee casual who was run off of the Plymouth plantation in meek defiance of Tribe, and he has supported the resistance ever since.

The biggest single problem the game has is, to use an industry buzzword, the minute-to-minute gameplay experience. The game affords too little freedom to players and forces them to spend too much time micromanaging their character sheet far too much, in ways that aren't fun enough. This is in my humble opinion the single biggest reason why population isn't what it should -- and, I think, could -- be. The early game should be about the fun of exploring and building in a strange and wonderful new land relatively at your own leisure, but presently it plays more like a strange fedex quest game where you have to run around vacuuming the landscape for yank to keep the grind furnace that is your character going for a few more minutes. If that were an attribute of the early game alone then it could perhaps be forgiven, but the problem is that that fundamental logic of advancement never quite disappears.

If building and character development were actually fun, then I don't think people would mind the relative harshness of the environment quite as much. This is the problem we are presently attempting to correct.

Once more you have to realize that a game where you put in the effort that allows you to not only write the history for server but mold it to your own? That's very desirable, Keep in mind when they started they also were 5 bile toons learning the game, did they sit on the forums and whine that other players were too strong? NO, instead the said, know what, let's own this ***** and make people pay rent. And after their hard work now they can sit back and collect winnings. I assure you, complaining to the devs solves nothing, If you don't like the game, simply do not play. I am sure someone of your skills might be better suited watching pain dry. We have no need for more crybabies in this community. Here's a real life lesson you need to know kid, If you want to change something else, do it yourself and make it happen, the problem isn't the game, it's you.

I'm alt banking everything I have... I might even improve the alts I have on the off-chance 5 humor alts are deleted to conserve server resources on the off chance the game resurrects itself years from now.

Jorb has officially written off Salem if he is considering transfers or server consolidations. Even a moron can see Plymouth's numbers and know what will happen to the rest of the servers if Tribe is given rein over all three.

Maybe Tribe is blowing blowing smoke on the forums... but I think it unlikely.

I think Salem still has a ton of potential; but it needs new management badly. I can only hope Jorb sells the rights at some point when Total population drops to Plymouth levels... and it will if Tribe gets their way... and when new management takes over... I'll be sure to give the game new consideration. I'll be damned if I enrich Jorb's pocket with new Silver or other until that day.

Last night I purchased the new Expansion for LOTRO, "Helm's Deep"... I have a lifetime membership there... I get VIP benefits and pay nothing... paid itself over many times now since the game's launch! That's what I plan on spending my time next 6 months. Hopefully Star Citizen will be in alpha by then... who knows... but Salem will never be a prime destination again... not under Jorb.

Salem is dying... thinking Tribe can see numbers too... they are just getting the last laugh before the switch is turned off... be damned if I'm going to be part of their punchline.

I feel bad for those that are. Good luck... or better yet... find a new game... this one's future is a dead end.
