The Dev's themselves have said that the mechanics are broken when it comes to Gluttony and Humours. They've stated repeatedly that it is broken and that it's their number one goal to fix it. The only real question is how they fix it and if it can even be fixed.
Safer, I've been arguing this point for months and months and you're right, Plymouth is the proof that humours, gluttony and the game are broken based on their lack of population. I've talked to maybe 4 Alpha players such as yourself who've come back to see how the game is, been amazed at where it ended up and how broken it is and then simply left a few days later. It's one of the sadder parts about being one the chroniclers of the fall of this game. I came to the realization a long time ago that this was a huge problem that wasn't going to get fixed. My only suggestion to new players is to build defense and to hide.
One of The funniest thing about all of this, and what makes me really question the judgement of Jorb and Loftar is that Darwoth, The Chief and Paymaster Paul (from the tribe) have been the only 3 players added to the Master Masons player dev help forum since you left.
Indeed, thats why I want Jorb or Loftar to comment on this, give us an idea of if there planning on fixing it to where this type of thing can never happen again. And its odd that Those 3 would be added, considering they enjoy running off potential customers, which is devastating to the games existence as more population, generally means more players join, as player amount is one of the determining factors of a good game.
Too Chief: Gee, when you guys use the excuse "but the game is about this..." and then I give an example of what the game is based on, you claim "Its not real life, its just a game, why does any of that have to do with..." Uh... Duh? Its a game, based on salem using folklore from that area of that time. Your just further proving the point that your nothing but a troll who doesn't want his godly powers taken away, even though they don't make any sense compared to the rest of the game, which apparently they have already said the system is broken, but you continue to deny this. So lets look at this from a game developers point of view. You, have taken over an entire server, which is now boasting the lowest user population, ever since you took it over, driving away all new customers because you can easily kill them and break all their stuff since you have dominated the server. Which hugely affects income from the game, meaning what you have done is actually destroying the game. We could wipe, and/or ban the people responsible, but that still wouldn't fix the underly problem. Since it happened to one server, it can happen to all of them, which would further be detrimental to the game and net profit. That leaves 2 options. Cut the losses and announce game shutdown and move on to another project, or attempt to fix the problem that caused it to happen.
Now that overall pressure has been removed to get the product working again since the company has slightly pulled out, we can take a step back and look at the game and attempt to fix the issues hurting our playerbase, perhaps re-look into the big selling point that earns us money, and possibly even restructure major elements of the game so that the changes we must make will ensure more fun for the players...
However, even though the pressure is backed off a bit, there will still be some problems, namely, how much funds can we continue to sink into running the game, without it being profitable, while attempting to fix the problems and get more players back in, who will start spending money on the game again. That is to say, though theres less pressure, there is still the problem that while the game remains in this state, there are less chances that it can make a smooth recovery and thrive.
---Simple explanation for those who don't have a college education, or even bothered taking game development classes...
There were problems, statistics indicate that what happened on Plymouth is the largest problem to the games health and future welfare, likely the humour system will have to be completely scrapped and reworked from the start of the idea with measures put in to ensure a fair balance that keeps the majority happy is implemented so that this never occurs again.
