In relation to clayte's comment on breaking into houses is hard is crap. Its hard untill you learn how to make C4, then with 1h of collecting mats / crafting, you can level a players house to nothing in mere seconds.

The problem the game has is the world map is too small. WAY too small, you can run from one edge of the world map to the other in 10 mins flat and along the way encounter at least 10 players who are more than blood thursty for your nakid body.

Resources spawn in the same locations over and over, and the heavy spawn locations are camped by bigger groups or clans who are online 24/7, thus forcing most people into low spawn / no spawn areas, and being forced to travel to gather resources, rather than have 5+ spawns right outside your door.

The other hard thing as mentioned is the factorys and zombie spawns can easily be zoned off by a big group's and if they are wearing full rad gear, can just stay inside perma, safe from rad, and destroy anyone coming close.

The game has some amazing potentional, sadly so did salem, and you saw what happened, however having almost $500,000 from people buying alpha keys, hopefully it will turn into something nice. Hope for something amazing, as long as they work out some of the major kinks.

PS: They have started to use VAC banning on hackers, unsure why they do not just fully ban the account, but yea. People using hacks such as insta movement, mega jumping, 1 hit kills, walk through walls and more.

Sadly i am enjoying Rust more than salem at the moment.

I never saw C-4 in the playthroughs I watched. It really only took like 2 mins to chop through doors anyways so it wasn't too bad. It's much more like Battlefield with crafting than like Minecraft, and the crafting is sort of weak.

They have said they're going to build up the world map.

The resource spawing is one of it's worst parts. Like Lee said there are major spawn areas and they're camped hard in most cases.

I'm amazed they raised 500,000 dollars like that. They have 16,000 keys out there and they're only selling 3 an hour now auction style. 500,000 dollars for a game like this is pretty amazing.

Hackers are the second major problem after spawns. They have major, major hacking flaws right now.

It looks cool, but I can't imagine playing it for months. Maybe weeks.

Death in Rust has no real penalty to it which is what makes it a ****** game. Once they add one in it will be interesting.

It seems to be evolving in the direction of full loot only. The crafting system looks to be getting fleshed out and it seems like a lot of effort will need to be spent in order to craft and improve backpacks with a high number of slots. Weapons and ammo are supposed to be getting more expensive, complicated and time consuming to craft as well.

It's too much of an FPS, with privately hosted servers, to ever deal with the level of consequences upon death as there are in Seatribe games.

Besides, there's no real incentive to keep playing. The bar for achievements is set much too low. You can achieve everything in a day.
