Islands?

are there any? I haven't seen any proper ones.

Darkness is unknowing, Light is knowing. Shed light to the Darkness to transform it into knowing. Thus it becomes Light.
Darkness is the absence of thought.

meh, not that rare. I've seen maybe 40 of them on Roanoke that are over deep water and could hold a good sized base. I've only seen maybe 10 of them that are unswimmable to for even a 200 stat guy. Islands really aren't that good to base on. They offer some protections but are a pain to explore from and get resources to like logs and granite and such. Any raider's going to have access to a canoe and even Candy Island can be reached by a waste claim supposedly. :D

I'd rather have a base next to a massive lime pit any day.

I've just found two islands in Jamestown. One of them is darwoth's little island.

Again, I'd recommend against it. I'd aim instead for multiple biomes and massive lime pits and woods. My perfect city isn't on an island. It's on the border of a spruce forest, autumnal forest and plains right next to a massive lime pit. Think of all that lime, granite and wood you'll have to port.
