New Water Graphics Problems: Help or Artifacts?

Postby Claeyt » Sun Oct 13, 2013 9:55 pm

Mods. I honestly don't know where this belongs so I quoted myself here. Please don't warn me for spam as this may be a problem with my files or where they are saved and not the off brand clients which means it belongs here instead. If you thinks it belongs here or there please just remove the wrong thread. I'd ask that you leave this up here until I figure out if it's the game files or the other clients and also because a lot of people don't check the artifacts section for Help questions but of course it's up to you.

From Artifacts and Arcana:

First of all, only Ender's and my client store anything outside of the java cache: the default client stores its stuff there. Secondly, I have no idea. The water works fine on my side, so aside from emptying the cache and redownloading all relevant files I have no real ideas what may be causing it.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

What graphics options are you using in the custom clients.

EDIT: Sorry, I just read the actual quoted text and realized you were talking about the custom clients. Can't help you with that. :)

Perhaps the console command ":gl wsurf on" works, though?

I'll try that.

I can't tell if it's the custom clients not having the water graphics or if it's the game saving them somewhere the modded clients can't find them. Is there any way to see why the modded clients aren't updating or finding the water graphics or is that what you just gave me?

I erased .salem and Salem files and then restarted the regular Game client and then Ender's and then Your's so that they all re-downloaded. I'm hoping I don't have to delete it all from my computer and redownload it all again. I just did it in August after the new water came out the first time.

Do the modded clients somehow not have the modded water? Why would it be fine in the regular game and not there in the modded clients?

Quality Water but no shadow or pixel lighting options. I'll try and play with them tho.

Well I went in and dug out and re-downloaded some more. I came back and turned quality water off then on again and it popped in on the modded clients. Hopefully it's all good now.

The water graphics exist entirely in the client code itself rather than any resource, so if they've merged my latest code, it should be there.

I redownloaded both ender's and Kand's completely and then turned quality water off then on and it popped in. So it wasn't the game at all.

Can you only get into the console command from the loading page or is there a way to get into it from the client page itself?
