I recently started playing this game and realized it didn't have a huge player base. During my gameplay I've met one person in the wilderness and he ran away from me Just wondering if there were any groups or anyone who would like to make a group in Jamestown. I've already made my homestead in a really nice location but am willing to move with help.

Because I'm a noob I don't even know if I mastered the right skills or anything but here is what I have so far:

I was going to master sewing, cooking, pottery and farming. o_o

The skills sound good to start a settlement.
Depending what you want to do you may need to go for the higher farming skills next.

Edit:
Oh and for me a good place to settle has 4 things: lots(!) of autumnal forest and grassland (settle right in between for example), water and lime (can be small). Everything should be as near as possible. With those four things you can do a lot!
Stone, clay, sand, game trails, etc. is just nice to have imho, but then I just started, so I don't know much yet.
