Tribe hit treaty payer, apologise and give compensation

I logged in to find I had been... raided, only they hadn't taken my valuable stuff, they had destroyed my beautiful shed and my bespoke kitchen cupboard (along with a few chests), nothing was locked.

As a treaty payer I contacted the Tribe to arrange for a Brave to swing by, they did and established it was one of their own who had got a bit trigger happy.

I found that they were very apologetic and their compensation was more than fair. Some people might think that they should replace every last item that was taken, but frankly half the fun of this game is making the stuff in the first place, so I was only really after a replacement cupboard and shed, but they insisted I have more than that.

Obviously getting griefed is never fun, but its only a game, get over it.

Yeah, sounds like a reasonable comparison.

To be fair, you weren't griefed. If you were, you wouldn't have gotten anything in return from the people who did it and would have logged into only walls and pavement. Shame they aren't organized enough to not actively raid their own payers, but good on them for giving you your own stuff back I suppose.

The tribe attacked my base. I would like compensation. I was a treaty payer at the time.

We have a system that works fairly well, but mistakes are still bound to happen. There are ways we could further reduce the risk of an erroneous hit, but that would come at the cost of the Treaty Payer's anonymity.

I call it griefing because unlocked chests and cupboards were destroyed and valuable things were left behind (a sled, cobwebs, dry boards). Where as a raid would have taken the valuable things and not been so bothered about destroying stuff. Maybe griefer isn't the term I am after. I guess levelling someones place is a lot more effort so its saved for someone you're actually at war with.

I meant more along the lines that the only thing you lost was the time it took to contact them and have them give you your things back and rebuild them, not that you only had the more expensive items broken in the first place.
