Yeh, I'm sure. :ugeek:

No really, a client crashing from to many whisper windows being opened is a flaw in the game client. Not a ddos attack.

LOL

So sending ICMP packets which are used every day to a computer that isn't disconnecting from a server isn't a DDoS?

Its a flaw on Interwebz

Got to change wiki now
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of- ... ICMP_flood

Anything else wiki wrong about?

Note to self typing /ctcp <username> aTH0++ was not a DDoS it was just a bug in old dialup modems.

Somebody's client crashing from overload of farm tiles is not a dos attack, that means their computer sucks. lol.

Why do you keep claiming the lag is caused by too may objects in one place? It's not. All those little woven baskets I posted a screenshot of on the screenshot thread didn't lag me, but a very small base with only a few rows of bugged fields almost made me crash. It was the fields, not the number of objects.

Some computers lag and some computers don't. Sounds like a personal problem to me.

Yeah but that's game engine problem. Just go to some place with 20-40walls, multiple planted fields and 200+ braziers.

bare in mind salem is a JAVA game... java is a pretty bad system for an mmo, just look at games like minecraft with the issues people suffer on that and games like it.

while i personally have never run across a town with 1/1 fields i cant really blame game lag on joe shmoe running a modded client :/ cause frankly if i stacked the normal 5/5 fields as you would a 1/1 it would cause the same amount of lag... sure it wouldnt be as useful or effective as a 1/1 mod. but the lag would by most accounts be exactly the same :/

be it default client or ender/bd client you will get lag from the game there is no way around it. if u want a game without lag dont play a game in development on java :/

Not sure what point you're trying to make here. I assume you're being sarcastic. But my point is, being around a lot of objects doesn't lag me, but being around even a small number of bugged fields does.
