Meh. I honestly don't see what the big deal with this post is. A general rehashing of what everyone already knows and calling specific individuals out in name or in action which is just a continuation of the general maliciousness which permeates the Salem forums. I mean you are dropping those names to assert that you understand the situation, but by doing so you are showing us you really don't. At least not fully.

All in all this is a game, once you die (in real life), or the game dies out, none of your triumphs, none of your victories, will ever matter in the end. This is a game.fully.

I'm not sure I get this. I mean I see it all over the forums, usually to preface their tears, but it never quite makes sense. Of course it's just a game but by playing it we are applying a sense of meaning to it, just like everything in life. We have a limited number of years to be alive so whenever we choose to do something we are applying a sense of meaning to it. I mean arguably being number 1 in Salem or any game for that matter, has the same intrinsic value as curing cancer to you once you're dead.

So what I'm saying is yeah you're right, but what's your point?

Now lets look at this at ANOTHER standpoint. Hes the tyrant that will kill for anything reason, anytime, whenever he wants (like he does, well at least his minions will). Name a story/game when there was no antagonist (don't give me so some child/toddler learning book crap either as an example or children book with morals). A story needs a villain...NEEDS it. If there is no Villain, you cant have a Hero. No Hero means no Protagonist. No Protagonist means NO STORY! We make the story, we are the story tellers, WE ARE THE VILLAINS AND WE ARE THE HEROES!!! We make what RPGs are all about, the players! Playing their ROLES! If you see him as a villain, stand up and be the heroes that oppose him and take him down! If you see him as a hero, then take up arms and defend him!
Pick a side, I do not care, if you don't want a side or don't want to fight, then that is YOUR story and I respect that fully.

This is probably the most relevant part of your post. Hell for me the Chief is one of the best parts of Salem, I don't agree with everything he does, but he makes an incredibly interesting character. And this is a sandbox game, there is no storyline so our biggest challenge is creating our own. And we need to do this together, in the game and on the forums. Otherwise you cut down some trees, farm, grind, and get bored and quit.

I'd like to warn against shackling ourselves with a polar storyline of heroes fight villains. Good stories are much more complex than that. And what drew me to this game is this game perfectly lends itself to that complexity. The villains will do evil things and the heroes will do evil things too, what matters not is how we classify them, but how interesting of a character they are. Plymouth has fallen into this false dichotomy of you either have to be for the tribe or against them, there are many more positions to take and way more characters than than the evil chief and the glorious rebel. Lets find those roles and play them out.

The Chtulu Masks are the rarest by far, as nobody has yet caught one of those damn jellyfish to make one.

If I like the game enough, Shining Force members will be glad to come here and take you down a peg...permanently if its needed (I do love a good purging. Your call "Chief". Like I said, I took people like you down before when I joined games in late, the first mistake is thinking I will be the typical player (in this case rebel) with empty promises, you shall soon learn that is not the case. I actually enjoyed the idea of "Peace Treaty" but, only if it was a peace treaty, and your whole tribes weren't *looks for a none offensive words*...Hmmm ah yes "uncaring, uncivilized, and over all *****" about your treaty.
