Nothing was destroyed, except few walls (rebuild btw), bell is in point where it should be in middle of camp and it is not in their way.
And why do you think it is useless to them? I explained that they got full permissions, so they can recruit, remove people from town, declaim their thief mate claims etc etc... when one of them will get skill he may become mayor, so what is your problem?

ok, this will be a good testing. please work on this to let Oin or one of his friend to be the rightful mayor. if Oin agrees and it works properly, i shall report so on the next courant issue and say you have remedied it.

I can confirm that renouncing mayorship and becoming the new mayor is possible. Just did this a couple of days ago.

Can anyone then become Mayor, could you elaborate a little? Are there still skills req. and is it just as simple as clicking on the bell as a town citizen or is it open to anyone? (no upkeep?)

We didn't do the switch over until the new character had "compacts and constitutions" and of course our bell had money on it. The current mayor can right click the bell to 'renounce mayorship' then the new character could right click the bell to 'become mayor'. It worked exactly how one would expect it to.

the point is not renouncing though.
1) the charter was bought by someone else.
2) the bell was built by a mayor of another town.
3) could-have-been mayor char is now deceased.
4) nobody is the mayor there now.
