if i have alot of fibers and no new clothing is this a good use of the fibers?

Nope. Actully - it'll be a waste of fiber.

Jute clothing is even worse than default one. Better use fiber for ropes, canoe - you name it.

I always make jute for my new characters just for aesthetic reasons. And it's not really that hard to throw a few rounds of milkweed into a fireplace. Also Haybales and jute are all full or half matches to most of the civilian artifacts.
