Layout of base defense

Hey!

So i've been reading a little about base defense, but not sure what would be the best layout for this server.

I read somewhere i should not stack walls next to each other? And try to place braziers in a certain way.

Does anyone have some tips on how to plan my defense? Like where to position walls and braziers etc.

My initial ide is just a simple wall with braziers on my side of the base.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

A wall will splash to another wall of the same type or weaker up to 6 tiles away, and when you place a brazier, it'll highlight it's range so you know how close to build them.

Hey!

With this info i thought i would build 4 walls. Branchwall farthest out, followed by woodblock wall, stonewall, then plank wall. And on the inside i will put braziers the whole way. Would that be a reliable defense?

Tree-walls will block any and all splash damage as well currently. So consider pre-planning your base to hold them on your main defenses in the future.

That's the old way. Crimes and braziers have changed, with Jorb stating that he hopes to discourage brazier spamming, so it may or may not be a good idea now.

can others confirm it?

stone wall-tree wall-stone wall
tree wall will stop splash even if stone walls are 1 tile apart?
