has anyone tried to destroy a town bell recently?
can it actually be destroyed and removed?

I am wondering this too. There appears to be a few players who have an opportunity to test this today.

Also wondering what the counter to the passive-aggressive placement of a town bell is - other than placing your own bell first.

Making your claim so incredibly huge that it can't be declaimed? But yeah it's mostly just a race to place the bell first. Seeing as it costs silver upkeep though, it's not a free land claim like it was in Haven.

I haven't had the opportunity to attempt since Pre-Com, so I have nothing else to add here.
