Cuttings (saplings) regrow time

Postby Cawalox » Wed Jan 15, 2014 2:54 pm

Any idea on how long does it take for a tree to regrow cuttings?
It is probably influenced by Frontier & Wilderness and Natural Philosophy but lets say with basic (35 & 35).

It's quite long there lad (that's what she said), most people dont wait as it can be 4-5 times the duration of standard tree growth. When it does it normally only regrows 1 of the two. So in short, it's long, really long, with a random ending (also what she said)

no

When trees respawn cuttings, they will always respawn both of them at once.
It seems to be that the tree regenerates cuttings whenever it is hit by a "decay" tick. As you can find in other posts and topics, the method is not completely understood and what is more, the randomness means that sometimes cuttings will respawn within several days, and that it can take literally months in other cases. In my opinion, it is definitely worth the wait on your top purity trees.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Thanks.
One more question, I am sure I read it somewhere though. Decay hits only on loading the map or does it hit loaded map regularly?

It’s been my experience so far that trees on a claim/town regenerate far faster than those which are not. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I'm pretty sure that they will hit on loaded maps - our town map tiles are loaded like 18/24 and the saplings there respawn on a decent time-frame (some weeks).
Once I dropped a stack of seeds and it stayed there for like two days!

I have a tree which took almost 6 months to regenerate the saplings - another has regenerated them in less than a week.

Conclusion: If you want more saplings, plant more trees. ;)
