Advice for Murder Alt

Postby qbradq » Sat Jan 11, 2014 7:23 pm

I'm wanting to make a murder alt to kill off my unwanted 5/5/5/5 alt characters outside of Boston. Is there any way to dissuade folks from grabbing the scents and tracking me down? Other than just having a way-far away homestead?

There are a number of solutions to your problem. The first and safest would be to have an existing player who already has a vaulted murder alt kill your unwanted alts on your behalf.

The second option would be to travel out to some obscure location where, hopefully, the scents won't be found or, if they are, will be too inconvenitent to use to track to your murder alt's location.

Third, as Cheena mentioned, vault that sucker up. Put him in a base with so much protection that it is not worth it for anyone to bother busting in. Generally speaking, though, if you have a townbell and walls, you should be secure enough depending on who finds the scents. This is a risky option and if you're a casual player, try option #1.

I've heard that placing a personnal claim over a scent was a nice option aswell, since it can be destroyed only on certain occasions. That means that as long as you pay your claim -and that noone town claim it- noone could pick the scent(s) it covers.

...I guess that it's the kind of mechanics Chief wouldn't want me to explain people, I'll make him angry at me again >.>

So that's why Chief was carrying around a bunch of writs of homesteading in that video.

You can alter your radar to show evidence - which would allow you to right click pick it up - even if there was a claim stone over it.

That, I think it was because when someone logs off before entering in combat in the middle of nowhere, you can claim the place he just left and... er... I don't know what it does ^^'

True, I forgot bout that :3

Thank you very much for your replies. Given my options, I may just use them as vault characters :)
