Regardles to what Wiki says 'bout Split-rail Fence gate

Which side when building your gate will deterime the what side the doors swing open. If you come from the north going south to build a gate the doors will open toward the south.

it looks like Makeshift gate always swings open to the south: i made few experiments, building gates from many directions, and still can't make it open to the north.

Can someone approve that? Or am i just too drunk to build it right?

Well, at least I can confirm that plank fence gates CAN open to the south. They open away from where you stand when putting up the signpost (provided you didn't rotate it) so in the interest of fire safety you should build from the inside outwards. However, opened gates have no hitbox whatsoever except for their cornerposts - it only matters visually. But then, those gates should be closed all of the time anyway.
