why does chopping down a tree take so long?

sorry if this was in the wrong section it says anything that has to do with salems gameplay. can anyone tell me why it takes so long to chop down a tree? in HnH it didnt take this long, 1% a time?

More than one person can chop a tree, if there are 5 people chopping on one tree it will tick for 5% each time.

Also, using a metal axe will chop a tree at 2% per tick per person.

In hnh there were more trees/tile I seem to think and the majority of trees had less wood blocks in them compared to a log in Salem. There's also much faster ways to collect wood when you first move into an area like woodpiles and hollow logs.

But yeah, it takes for friggin' ever.
