Before I take a shortcut across this big lake looking thing, is it possible to drown? Does turning on swimming and using it a lot drain anything?

at the moment swimming doesn't drain anything, if you don't have it turned on you cannot enter deep water.... not tried turning it off when in deep water lol

Proper swimming system has not been implemented yet and thus, you can "swim" without any consequences.

KO, unless you drown in darkness - then you die

And to complete the necro post: it drains Phlegm rather quickly.
