How do I start my Fireplace?

I have been trying to figure what to put in my fireplace to make it light. I tried logs, branches, and the tender drill? What do I do?

To light it, use a tinder drill on the fireplace by holding the tinder drill and right clicking the fireplace.

I am sorry to seem so stupid but I clicked the wood and right clicked the fireplace and all it is doing is dropping the woodenblock or branch. I just can't get it.

After you build the stone circle, you need to select branch and right click it on the stones, rather than the empty middle. Once the first wood is set up you can just right-click branches in the middle. After that you need to pick up the tinder drill, and right click it on the wood pile
