Noob... only hours old. I created not one but two axes from inspirations and put them in my equip area 1-0... but when I go to chop a log up... it tells me I have no tools equiped. What's the axe good for then? Should I drop it. Does it have to be a special axe?

Frustrated already!

you have to put the tools in your hands or equip them, not just in your inventory. go to your personal inventory page with all your clothes on it.

If you're using ender's client (or maybe even the game client, I forget) simply hover your mouse over the tool and 'shift' + left-click it.
