It will last until destroyed, or until the raiding town (the town the builder of the waste claim belongs to) runs out of silver.
As waste claims are relatively expensive to maintain (480s daily), they are most often destroyed by the raiders themselves once the waste claim is no longer needed.
Out of curiosity, what server are you on?
