My Hermit Hole, heavy on the defense.

Terrible base design. I could break that in less than a single evening with a few braves. Don't get me wrong it looks like it took a lot of work but the design of it was poorly thought out and as such all those braziers could be destroyed in a few hours.

Well as you can see I've started the second big ring of braziers. Total of 4 layers around the the 2 outer walls can be placed. This design can be made much stronger.

I think the greater point is that you need sub walls that break your squares into sections. That way if someone breaks through your walls they still only get access to a portion of your base.

Did you know that your base was complete **** before you posted it and that is why it is in the help section? If so what aspect about your base is it that you are looking for help on? Your base is definitely one of the top worst designs I've seen in awhile. Start by reinforcing those gates so that somebody can't get into your entire brazier matrix after destroying 2 gates.

edit: I'm assuming the OP is asking for helpful comments on base development as this was posted in the help section. Mr. jwhitehorn pointed this out, but as it was a post discussing moderation and not in the proper location, it was removed.

Your title says "needs more Braziers". So I can only assume that perhaps that is your question.

The answer. No, Your brazier coverage is fine. It needs more gates and/or a better system to keep raiders from just breaking in and destroying those braziers.

How much protection would it give him if he were to build unfinished structures (such as makeshift fences) on every tile?

Not very.... Unfinished structures typically go down in a single swing.
