What weapon or combat moves do I use?
How much bile should I have?

Been killing crickets and rabbits using stomp/uppercut. Want to move up to the next bigger animal.

15 blood.
A sword is best. Also use Guard.
More than 20.

I killed those at 24,24,24,24 but it's still quite a suicide.
Find a hollow stump or a rock. Shoot from distance to aggro, get behind stump and try to stomp stun it. After that just thrust with saber. Repeat 3 or 4 times and pray that deer won't go berzerk and chain charge you (deals 10 everytime).

You just have to "hug" the deer. It only charges when you aren't close enough.

Of course.
You hug the deer, then it hits you for 5 blood, with guard on, and you hit it back. At 20 humours you should need 3 hits with thrust, I think.

Feeling a bit retarded now, well the moar you know..

My tests have shown guard to be useless. It does not reduce the incoming damage from deer.
I usually use run to be faster, easier to avoid attacks/stay close to the deer.

Sometimes deer charge, run away, charge again. That can deal a lot of damage in a short time.

I like to aggro with bullrun, that way you deal a lot of damage in the first attack and are already close. If you can thrust or uppercut it after that, the deer should be dead.
If the bullrun misses, just try again, the deer won't aggro on missed bullruns. Do not use stomp to aggro, it will be interrupted by a charging deer!
After the bullrun get close to the deer to avoid charges and hit it. Don't let it get away. They are fast and can avoid/interrupt most attacks. Their normal damage is 4-5 points, so unless it charges it's not really dangerous.

After some training you should be able to kill a deer with bullrun -> thrust/uppercut in a few seconds with the deer hitting you once at most.

guard does not give you protection when you are stunned after bullrun.

No, it doesn't. And not after a slingshot or any other method of aggroing either, because it doesn't give protection against deer at all. Haven't tested against bears, yet.
