crop purity, confused

I am slightly confused by these results:

I planted 100% cereal seeds on 92% humus. Resulting crops ranged between 71% and 76%
I planted 97% cereal seeds on 93% humus. Resulting crops ranged between 81% and 86%
A fellow pilgrim planted 100% seeds on 100% humus. Resulting crops came out only 65% pure

I fail to grasp any consistency in these numbers. Just how big is the random factor?

Has to be the same element, ie 100% led cereal with 92% led humus should yield somewhere between 90%-100% crops. 100% led cereal on 92% salt humus will yield lesser % crops.

All random you can see on your skin. I think- it will never result lower than 65% as I remember first harvest after compost update was on the range you've listed. There shouldn't be so pure crops anywhere then devs could make some plank for it ¦]

Welcome to the new world

It used to be like this all the time, a random factor, but it seems (since purity nerf patch) that it's even worse now.

i have not once gotten a result higher than 74% - 82% when using 90%+ humus and equal or higher seeds, even tried using seeds with lower elemental values than the humus and still got **** results.

I'm wondering, if the random factor has been made proportional to the seed and humus purity used, as well as biasing the random factor towards a negative with higher input.
Because I have not seen my low purity crops drop as bad as from 100 to 65 yet. I see a variation of about +3/-3 when planting 10% seeds on very compatible humus, with what seems a bias towards increase.

on the lower end of the scale...

31.3 merc humus + 27.3 merc seeds = 23 merc ears...

Has the randomiser gone haywire? yes i expect random changes, I have had variations around the 26-27 mark which i have diligently filtered out.. this was by far the biggest swing I have experienced in over 100 fields harvested.

It looks like there is something else affecting purity. Maybe some proficiency is acting as a cap here?
Or maybe purity of fertilizer DOES matter?

If proficiency affected it, I think I would have noticed this way earlier..

However that field would have been fertilized with 25 humus minimum (if i didnt use the 25.6 bin but what diff) but maybe i dropped a low merc lime on it.. its possible, but again I would have notcied sooner due to other fields being loaded with that same lime and humus.. even fields planted the same have purities up to 28..

Well I agve no problems with seeds lower than 65%. It grows in purity iven if I use ****** fertilizer, but all seeds that upper 65% are not being to grow anywhere. Might the PP affect :?:
