I put 3 limed hides in my tanning tub.
I added 3 buckets of tanning fluid, each made from one bucket of water and a brain. (30 units of 5.0% tanning fluid)
The thing has been standing for 24h+ and the limed hides have still not turned into leather.
What am I doing wrong?

tanning hides should only take 8 hours total. Does the tanning tub show a concentration of 5%?

then i'm afraid there's little I can do: it should be working. Try putting the tub in some kind of storage (sled, boat, ...) ? In haven, this reset's the tub, and it might work similarily in salem

Do the limed hides show the progression bar? The little green bar on the right side of them? If they are showing then what are they at? Is there any brain water left in the tub? If not it's possible someone came by with a bucket and stole your brain water. Especially if it's not on a claim.

Edit: I picked up the limed hides, put all the tanning fluid in buckets and put the tub on a sled. I then put everything back. This caused the concentration of the fluid to drop to 4.9%, so now it surely won't work.

Progression bar is NOT shown. There is 30 units of brain water left, see screenshot below.

I think the tanning skill is needed to lime hides and build tubs, but not to use tubs.

This looks like a bug and should be reported in the bugs section. Perhaps the recent changes have caused it?

Throw another brain in the tub (the brain itself directly - not in a bucket of fluid). This will raise the concentration above 5.0%, and should start the tanning process.
