stone walls decay off claim?

Are stone walls exempt from decaying outside of a claim?

There is base close by that has been raided and abandoned with lots of the remaining wall off the claim. yet they are still 100%.

I am interested in building a wall wide around my claim so I can expand into the area with out upfront claim cost

Wouldn't really be a good idea. You would be giving people free access

As far as I can tell.. they dont decay, however that section of wall is free from retaliation when a raider does come calling, giving him free reign to tresspass on your base.. a good idea is to have that stone wall there, and have a makeshift in between as the actual limit of your current base until you can stretch your P claim to meet the stone wall. This saves some money and gives you a modicum of retalitation to interlopers who come to have a gander at your humus and worms..
