the Wicked Wicker man craft not working ?

I got my hands on a singing old log , and tried to craft it into that mask. The wiki says it works , but in the end I got a Wicker man again . What happened ?

I guess you had a normal log in your inventory and the game chose that over the singing old log?!

no I only had the singing old log ! It disappeared from my inventory.

How did you try to make the Wicked Wickerman exactly? Did all the items required disappear (the hay, for instance) or just the singing old log?

You've had a normal log, check your backpack maybe ?

Look I double checked my inventory. I only had the log , hay , grass and wood chopppings.I do not intend to keep this going I just want to know if it is a bug and can happen again.

I suppose it's always possible that it's a bug, but it never happened to me and I must have made over 100 of those things by now. If you find another singing log, retry and report back, please.

Well I found another log at the forest near Boston , crafted it and....this time it worked .

Did he say "and wood choppings?" Many a time have I used the flower menu and split my beautiful singing log. I bet this is what happened.
