Cricket Hunting is Impossible

Postby ampzz » Fri Apr 26, 2013 5:00 am

Why in God's name is it so hard to get the first hit on a cricket>? Between them running away from you and the half second delay on your attack it seems to be pure luck to make contact with them. Any tips?? I feel like I want to smash my computer anytime I go looking for crickets.

WARbite cricket

They are trained to war, that is why they are so hardcore.

Sorry didn't realize you can use the slingshot against them!

You can either use a sling to aggro them orturn on wander, run into a group and stomp; that generally gets their attention.

Wait for them to cross your path and then press "stomp" at the right moment.

1. Get Fencing, & Stomp, buy Sabre for $100-125 from blue player stall, equip to right hand (the right slot).
2. run cricket towards tree, especially cliff or large object & stomp(becareful of agroing multiple crickets also ensure your biles are high because when fighting biles do not regenerate) .
3. use sabre thrust, ensure mouse cursor is on cricket direction when he charges in - he will come in from random angles, backing your self into something will leave a more predictive attack direction if you have great trouble. (also socketing your clothing with arrowheads and other to improve your attacks can help)
4. Advanced: When he comes in to attack have En Garde on (you will need to have your sword in [your view] right hand slot) then as he hits use Parry, then do a sabre thrust.

Use Wander to speed yourself up and Stomp for the initial aggro. You dont need to be above the cricket when stomping. In most cases the cricket will turn around and interrupt your stomp by hitting you, but then you have it in melee range.

Slingshot is no good. Stones take up too much inventory and makes it inefficient.

Unless you miss all the time, each shot will be taken up by what you kill anyway.. inventory full of stones = inventory full of kills
