Alright I commited a crime my soul will burn in hell etc.So I got out of the area , the debuff wore out and I am clean now . Can the guy I stole from still kill me ( EDIT ) after I go offline

Anyone can kill you at any time whether or not you committed a crime..

By commiting a crime you will have left scents, which can be collected by anyone and used to track and summon kill you. The scents last for differing times depending on the crime. Short answer yes

@DemonEyes you are right my description is not complete.I meant after I go offline.
@ysbryd is there a catalogue with the time the scents last or something ?

Just checked the wiki, apparantly not.. some of the older players will know tho, and maybe stick it in the wiki

What crimes did you commit?

Some are non summonable crimes.
So 1. Trespassing, 2. Did you take anything?

steaking, KO'in (battery), waste (destroying) and murder are all summon-able offences that can lead to the untimely death of your character.

edit: steaking, no this isn't buffy, I truly meant 'stealing'

Walking off a claim with a chest and emptying it off claim isn't stealing though, right?

@RumeNL It looks like I was only trespassing . Some things that I stole from him were out of his claim. I don't have larceny to steal in his claim anyway.

no, emptying it on unclaimed land isn't a criminal offence.
