1. there is no way to increase wood purity, neither coal purity aswell, at the moment.

2. No you can't, we can only rent them, and the 9 are gone, so wait for additional shops to be installed by devs.

3. Inside mines, you can only get Ore boulders.

4. statistics... you can get 3 bars, and 0 too, happenned to me already.
best is to use 13 ore, 12 lime

but when i 13ore+12lime = small dross... and one / two iron...

How can i use Fertilizer - Upkeep Farm ??
i use when not 5x Humus ... or when empty ? cant...

Upkeep: This reduces the amount of Humus needed to prepare a field as well as reduces the amount of seeds needed to replant the field. The values after calculating for upkeep are base quantity * (Upkeep/100) This value has a bottom cap of 50%. Adding Wood Choppings to the field improves the upkeep by lowering the Upkeep value. Example: a field at 50% Upkeep will require 3 Humus to prepare and 25 Seeds of Grain to plant where as 100% upkeep requires 5 humus and 50 seeds.

I suggest you quit using underground farms. It's a bug and is subject to be removed at any time. You'll lose your crops and any effort you've put into raising tiers.

The quality of the lime has an effect on the quality of the iron, but as a natural resource, there is no way to raise lime quality. The only way to raise iron quality is according to the guide Sevenless has posted.

It, and some other bugs, were fixed at the end of Pre-Com. But they came back at the start of Commercial beta. Not entirely sure why.
