Always in a Cliff

Postby XelNigma » Tue Apr 09, 2013 3:08 pm

Every time I need or want a particular item, such as an indian feather or spot a singing log, its always in a cliff where I cant get it.

Is it possible to dig on the cliff to lower it until its flat so I can get the item it greedly holds?
Iv tried digging on a cliff once before and the texture of the ground changed to dirt and it looked smooth, but despite that it still acted like a cliff.
On a somewhat related note, when I try to dig up some clay or limestone it tells me the area it too steep, can I dig this area out a bit so it isnt so steep?

yea yoyu can dig/bury some hills but not all
yea who needs "secure" trading, its not like this game would benefit from it, lets just kill the newbs instead as long as that's fun and people still join the game.

It is possible, but would take several hoursto do so, its just bad lack and nothing much you can do about it.

Atleast thats my knowlegde on it,

Hours? If it's a crazy cliff, maybe.

Just keep digging at the cliff. Once the height difference between the adjacent tiles is 11 or lower you will be able to walk on the tile and pick up the object. You can also dump dirt at the base of the cliff to speed things up.

About the only good way of digging out a cliff is digging a point behind it down to where you want the cliff to be, then use the "dig until flat" command (CTRL+Left Click while in Dig mode).

As for lime being "too steep", yes, you can dig out the edges and create yourself a nice little strip mine. But before you get too carried away, I'd suggest you read this post first. You can develop a sustainable lime quarry with enough patience.

Max height difference is 11? I thought it was 10.

11 is what I observed while quarrying lime. I dunno, dirt acts funny when next to lime :D
