What do the ancient farmers on plymouth do with their farmer characters?

Are there any black bile benchmarks that are recommended to level stocks? Or is that just avoided and you level stats equally?

Was thinking of just going x/x/x/400 i.e. but am afraid that content changes may ruin that character in the future. After spending 7 hours straight studying my last harvest I'm looking for advice on this, thanks.
