Creating cliff hill

As of now, is it possible to create a steep enough hill to create a cliff to make a player climb?

You cannot create any non-traversible tiles. Cliffs are a finite resource.

Jorb has said they'd like to, but not sure if they'll get to it any time soon. It's one of those "nice things" that we can't have, I guess.

Something interesting to note is that the tile at the top of a cliff counts as "level ground" for building walls, but if you add a unit of dirt to the base and make the cliff disappear, then the adjacent steep slope no longer allows for the placement of buildings.

I have created several cliff tiles when doing sustainable lime quarrying. I'm not quite sure what triggers it, but if you manage to dump dirt such that the height difference is greater than 11 you get a tile that looks like a slope but behaves like a cliff. I can upload some screenshots later.

Quarries tend to ignore cliff restrictions. The "refill quarry with dirt" thing can create deep holes if you dig normally since that lowers all 4 corners (including the ones not elevated by dirt).

It's not on the dig that creates the cliff edge, it's when I back-fill the quarry edge. This occurs when no loss of height has happened in the quarry. Just sometimes when I back-fill it decides it wants to bring the dirt edge up higher than it should be able to and creates a cliff. I've had this happen to the tune of 15 height units just today (and am having to strip-mine just to get rid of it :D ). I am still experimenting with all of this and will hopefully figure out how to create cliffs on demand.

Also, that screenshot I promised isn't coming tonight. The image uploader isn't working and I can't be bothered to use imgur or whatever :D
