Wow thats pretty crazy

I have had bears on my property which which thankfully went away after leaving for just 15 minutes or so...

Do you have other players active in your vicinity? Someone else being online or porting back n forth often would keep them there

Domestic or Wild turkeys? No idea if it makes a difference, but it might.

Yes, that would be why. That's also why foragebles don't respawn near your base.

just remember that a server reset will lose you all those animals :)
I wonder if turkeys live indefinitely in mineshafts? since animals corpses don't despawn there ?
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

It is certainly not forever.

My village attempted a bear turret, stone wall pen with entrance/exit. Aggro bear, enter pen and close door behind. Then leave alt logged in within line of sight for eternity so anyone approaching gets hit with the spam BB howl while they have crime debuff preventing regeneration.

Sadly after a couple hours the bear despawned despite the alt being in range.

That's diabolical! I'd love to see a video of it :d

As for the turkeys, let me know how that turns out. I just started turkey farming so I don't want to loose any quite yet, otherwise I'd give it a go.
