Friend started playing, best way to get him to my spot?

I have been playing for about a week now and one of my friends started playing. I am quite the distance from 'boston' and was wondering what the best way that he could meet me at my homestead?

Build a claimstone and he can use the wilderness guide to teleport a new character to your homestead. At the wilderness guide, have him put in your secret and press enter, then a new button will pop up for him to travel to you.

Will that still work even if he already built a homestead?

If he already used the wilderness spawn then no. He will have to make a new character or walk to your location.
