I was attacking a rabbit and ran out of yellow bile... i kept running and running but it would never stop following me and trying to attack and thus i just let it k.o. me.... will animals ever stop attacking you?

they don't unless you use run and put several screens between you and it or swim across a river

That said, rabbits can be pretty fast when they put their mind to it.

And if they suddenly decide they're march hares can be quite deadly to the uprepared wabbit hunter.

March hares are slow though, so you can disengage by running.
