I'm sure it has an upside but i can't figure it out. Trees dont take long to cut down and stumps are easier to destroy than split rail fence. Would it be much easier and better to just make a split rail fence instead of a tree wall ?

Trees are a pretty good wall. They do take awhile to cut with one person, and they don't have splash damage that regular wall pieces do when they are broken. Tree's will only benefit you if you have a lot of braziers that will be firing on the person cutting the tree. They will have to retreat long before they finish cutting it down.

The time they take to cut down is static, humours don't improve the cutting rate. So while a split rail fence might take the same time to bash for a 50 humour character, think how long it'll take a 500 humour character to mulch through it (numbers made up). Furthermore, when you cut a tree down there's none of the splash damage problem you get with normal walls. This lets you stack walls more effectively than regular wall types.

Blame colesie. But I've been keeping an eye on updates and I'm well aware my guide is in need of some tinkering to keep it current.
