In a word, no. And you probably don't want to either. Here's why:
Characters in Salem take a
very long time to develop. If you've just started a new character and decided you don't want it anymore for whatever reason, the effort involved in getting it killed will probably be a lot more than the effort of fixing whatever's wrong with the character. Plus if you start another character you're going to be doing a lot of the same work you would have needed to in order to "fix" the first character.
My first "I want to delete this character" moment was when I realized that the area I had settled had no limestone quarries anywhere near it. I started another character to get a wilderness teleport so I could find a better spot. I lucked into a spot in a forest with a small patch of lime nearby, but no water.
Now I wanted to delete my first character. "But wait", I thought! If I do that, I'll have to spend three more hours foraging to get those skills and humors back on the new character that's close to (some) limestone.
So instead I picked up what valuables I could carry and spent some time looking for a new place to settle with the first character. Within 30 minutes I found a huge abandoned city with a ready-built mine, hammer mills, anvils, everything I needed. And tons of lime! I squatted there for a few days getting enough iron to found a proper settlement, then struck out again.
The point is, take your time with Salem. It's a "stop and smell the roses" kind of game (unless you're being hunted

). Also, alts are valuable. You
will die at some point. Having a "main" is putting your eggs in one basket. Try to have several developed characters at one time (preferably on different accounts).
