How can I see where I will be placing an object I've lifted up? I've done it a few times on accident.

I'd like to organise my camp a bit.

right click the object when you carry it, and then you can place it.

I meant preview the place where it's gonna come down onto.

Incase you dont get it, he means, literally right click the object you are holding above your head. Also the snapping is pretty horrid so you will likely want to hold ctrl to do manual placement, and shift+mousewheel snaps the object to 45 degrees
