Do the color-bars on a field affect the element of purity?

I haven't been able to find any info on this, but I have noticed a suspicious correlation between the color-bar on my fields and which element is getting boosted in my crops.

-The fields where I have been growing cotton (which adds to the Blue bar) have crops that are elevated in Sulfur.
-My cabbage fields tend towards salt-rich produce.
-My cereal fields are giving me ears rich in Mercury.
-The pumpkins I just harvested from a field which was previously growing cereal came out high in Mercury as well.

Now, there's a random factor involved, but the overall tendency seems to be towards boosting the element whose bar is the strongest in the field.

Has anybody else noticed anything like this?

No, I haven't noticed that at all. Not sure why there would even be a correlation.

Well, there are 4 bars and 4 elements, and the order of the colors corresponds to that of the elements (although the 4th field bar is red and not yellow) so I would not be surprised if there was a correlation between the bars and the elements.

However, given that I'm "noticing" a relationship at accumulated influence levels that are quite low, it's likely that if this were a real effect that maxed-out fields would produce significant and noticeable effects on the elemental composition of the crops grown in them.
