Can your claim be destroyed by other players?

Afraid of the answer... but can another player destroy your claim stone? And thus crapping your whole invested silver into the land?

I believe a claim can only be destroyed if the maintenance on it isn't paid. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
The sweat and blood shed by its people had established a strong foundation upon which the most powerful entity in the world would be built.

maintenance? what maintenance? I know I saw mention of some upkeep in the game menus but when I click on my claim where I expand it the only cost display is the one that shows you the cost of expanding it further.

There is a silver drain in claim stones. I havent tried it myself, but a person with the right skills can lay waste to an entire claim in minutes.

Is there a special window for seeing the upkeep and putting money toward the upkeep?
someone can waste your claim regardless of whether you paid upkeep or not?

The upkeep remaining is displayed on the claim stone info window. The stone holds enough for 60 days (2 months) and a new claim always starts with 30 days upkeep.

Waste claims only apply to villages, and yes, a waste claim can be placed at any time no matter what the upkeep status is. Personal claims can be assaulted at any time without warning. Everything on the claim can be stolen or destroyed (assuming rules allow the object to be moved or destroyed). The only two ways the personal claim itself can be destroyed is A) upkeep completely drains out and hasn't been paid, leaving the stone unprotected from destruction (no word on if they will actually decay over time), or B) a player can place a Town Bell nearby and use the authority as a mayor to revoke the claim through Eminent Domain. In the case of Eminent Domain, the player that was revoked receives the silver invested in claim expansion back.

Excellent. thanks for that explanation!

Would be good to have that on the wiki page for Stake Claim too

Just lost my claim to a raider. Spawned an alt (salvaging items from the homestead) too soon to his raiding and he broke my stone and put one of his own down. Now he owns my pretty house and the braziers defending it.

This was as a result of the recent patch put into place which allows claim stones to be destroyed for... 5 minutes i believe... following the spawning of a toon at your homestead.
