I'm confused about PvP in this game, are there any guides I could be linked to?

Can people attack me if I don't have 'The Right of Englishmen'? Can they attack me when I do? Do I need to be a criminal for them to hurt me? Or do I have to turn PvP on somehow? I've been holding off on buying 'The Rights of Englishmen' because I don't want people to be able to kill me, but if they can hurt me either way then I may as well purchase it.

I'm confused because I've seen a few people in game but none of them tried to attack me so I figured PvP was turned off for me.

People can attack and kill you at anytime outside of the main town at any time, even if you're on a freshly spawned character. The aren't any pvp guides really, combat techniques are kind of considered too important/risky to give out to people. Best way to learn combat is to practice with a friend or join a town and practice with the members there.

From skills I read, to pernamently kill someone is need skill "The Story of Cain & Abel"? Or any random dude can perm-kill?

So anyone can come up and kill me permanently at any time?

Guess I better change my playstyle a bit if that's the case.

Yes you need the skill to unlock 'killing blow'.

It can happen anytime, even on your own claim.

To say "anyone" can is not quite true. Anyone withthe rigt criminal skills can. However, there is no way to know if that guy coming up to u is a newb or a killer, so always be cautious.
